All the pediatric dentists and the and staff of the Lasky Pediatric Dental Group have deep roots in the San Fernando Valley community as most live in the area. They are not just practicing pediatric dentisty, they are all are committed to giving back to their surrounding communities they serve, the city of Los Angeles and the world at large. They participate in a variety of pediatric dental service initiatives and other organizations they feel drawn to because they benefit children.
Below are some examples of how the Lasky Pediatric Dental Group “family” tries to make the lives of others just a little bit brighter.
Susan G. Komen 5K Race for the Cure:
For the past three years, the Lasky Pediatric Group dentist and the office staff have annually formed a team to participate in the Los Angeles Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure after breast cancer affected one of their colleagues in 2009.
The Lasky Pediatric Dental Group was proud to participate and sponsor a humanitarian dental trip to Nepal to provide pediatric dental service overseas. One of our pediatric dental hygienists, Liz Martens joined a team of eleven who journeyed to small Himalyan villages.
The provided pediatric dental care to primarily on the Tamang people living near the Tibetan border. Over 100 preventive dental sealants were placed in the mouths of small children at no cost due to the financial support of the Lasky Pediatric Dental Group. These sealants will help to prevent these children from suffering from dental disease.
Give Kids a Smile:
For many years now, Drs. Jill and Michael Lasky and Dr. Lecia Harmer have volunteered for the Give Kids a Smile program. This is a nationally run program that provides oral health screenings to disadvantaged children, and the Lasky Pediatric Dental Group participates through the San Fernando Valley Dental Association to help treat children throughout the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys.
The Help Group and The Help Group Special Needs Resource Fair:
Dr. Martin Lasky has been involved with The Help Group since it’s inception over 40 years ago. As an original board member, he was responsible for helping The Help Group grow to be one of the finest groups of its kind to supporting and assisting children with the varying degrees of autism and ADHD learning disabilities.
In May of 2012, the Lasky Pediatric Dental Group participated in the 3rd Annual Special Needs Resource Fair for this wonderful organization. They provided educational and resource materials to members of the community.
